I rated it 4 stars because the flat 4 plug doesn't fit the provided bracket. There's no point in including that piece. It seems like they just bundled one vendors wiring harness with another's receiver hitch and slapped their name on it. Which is fine, everything is high quality. Just kind of annoying.I put wire loom on the wires to protect them better, I didn't like the idea of just regular wire hanging around under the vehicle.Installation is very easy, the connectors are all quality. More than enough length to get everywhere you need to.Hauled my trailer around just fine.

The hitch is sturdy and easy to install. The wiring harness takes time to install. You will need some type of wire snake to get the wiring into the hard to reach areas. Watch one of the YouTube videos to help with install. Overall works great.

It seems as good as the one a local dealer wanted to charge me $850. I sound a trailer company to install for $125. Came with everything needed.

The hitch was a perfect fit to my son's 2016 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon JKU. Installation isn't hard, only takes about five minutes. You just slide the hitch over the crossbar, run the bolts through, and tighten. You'll need two open ended wrenches (I believe they were 19mm). There isn't enough room to use a socket unless you want to go through the hassle of taking the bumper off.

I have a 2021 Wrangler JL, 4XE (hybrid) model. The hitch fit quite tight on the frame. Made it tough to get it on the frame. Getting the little metal piece to hold the trailer wires plug was quite difficult. They don't give good instructions on how to put this little piece in place. Their electrical plug doesn't fit their provided metal bracket so you'll have to rig something to accommodate your wire and plug. Routing the 12vdc power wire through the frame tube from rear to front is the best protected place but you'll need something long and stiff to get it through the whole frame from rear to front. Maybe use a fish tape. I used a piece of 1/4 dia. coaxial cable. It was stiff enough to push. The curved frame over the rear axle is the worst area to push the cable through. They did not include a means to secure the 12v wire to the battery. Mopar provides a 6mm metric nut to fit the already present post but this kit offers nothing so plan a trip to the hardware store to buy a 6 mm nut. Note: It is a 6mm stud on the battery connector, NOT a 1/4-20 SAE as it appears to be. Don't use an SAE nut. You'll strip the stud. The manufacturer's video seems nice but its not adequate to do the job. They leave out important steps. Still, it is MUCH simpler than the MOPAR package which has many more parts and demands you take out all kinds of interior things to route that 12vdc power wire to the battery. The Jeep plug was very hard to remove even though I did unlock it. I had to also use a very small screw driver to push the red tang up inside the cavity, enough and this let me pull the plugs apart. Thats a Jeep problem, not a Rugged Ridge problem. The job took me about 4 hours to complete. Rewarding though.

The only issue I saw with this product was the bracket to hold the trailer light plug was not a very good fit. It was loose in the bracket and kept falling out of the bracket and hanging down. I will need to either zip ty it to the bracket or fabricate a different bracket to house the plug!

Hitch was a breeze to install, no problem at all. However I received the wiring harness for a Jeep JK and I needed one for the newer JL.

Now I know why Quadratec welds the nuts to the hitch. I installed mine with the bolts coming from the muffler (car) side. I used channel locks to hold the nut in place while hand threading the bolts. After that, it went easy.

I just installed this on a 2011 Jeep Wrangler. I did not have to remove the rear bumper to install this hitch kit.On the instruction, it was shown to but the screws facing forward (head of the screw on back side of the car and threaded side facing the front of the car) but this was impossible. I had to put the bolts between the rear bumper and the metal bar on which the hitch attaches. In other words I had to use twisters to hold the bold in the right spot for the bolt to thread in. This task was not easy and required time. Screwing the four screws was the hardest and the rest is very easy.I would recommend wearing some sort of eye protecting glasses because you will get dirt in your eyes.Other tip, after feeding the wiring harness through the tail light hole, attache the trailer connector to the hitch and start attaching the harness to the car (with the little white plugs all along the harness) on this trailer connector's side. I did the opposite and ended up having to unplug one of the white plugs and unfortunately broke it. But this was my accident.

I have a 2015 JK. Installation was easy. Remove the bumper (six screws). Installed the hitch at 60 ft-lbs of torque as we heard 80 strips the screws. Wiring kit was quick to install as well through the driver side light box. Total time:. 30 minutes. Seems sturdy. I purchased the Jeep hitch cover that is not included. We used both an air wrench and a torque wrench.

Receiver installed RELATIVELY easily, sizes of the bolts were not accurate. The wiring harness is not compatible with my 2020 wrangler sport. Now i have to find another adapter to install on my Jeep to keep the four pin plug to be stationary and supported.
