Packaging is amazingly compact and protective of yeast. When opened I put it in a jar with a tight fitting lid and store it in a cold part of the fridge. It's good yeast.

Dependable, always delivered good bread. I freeze in a canning jar, and only keep out a small portion in a Tupperware container in the refridgerator. It easily lasts over a year.

I learned about SAF Instant Yeast from the King Arthur website when I was looking for bread and bagel recipes. If you enjoy making and baking your own breads, rolls, bagels, biscuits, etc. then this is the yeast to use. None better.

After opening, put it in a container, even a jar, and place in the freezer. Use as needed, no need to thaw. lasts forever. Had my last bag more than a year, maybe more.

I had been using an Italian brand of instant yeast that I was very happy with, but for budgetary reasons I wanted to try the SAF. It came highly recommended by the King Arthur Baking company, so since it was a 1/4 of the price of my usual yeast I figured I'd try it. OMG, it's so good. It performed the same during the proofing, but I got an amazing oven spring, and the flavor is gorgeous.

I love this yeast, really it is full proof, I make a lot of bread add yeast and flour mix and forget about it until its ready. I keep mine in a plastic container in the back of the fridge. It lasts a year for sure. Love it.

I have used this yeast in the past with no problem, but this particular package is not performing properly and doesn't hold up through the entire bread baking process. Final rise prior to baking is unsatisfactory. Too late to return it.
