I go back and forth between the yellow and green sponges and these blue sponges from Scotch Brite. However, if given the choice, I prefer these blue ones. I'm not even totally sure what the difference between these two varieties of sponges are, if any at all. I do notice the difference in the thickness of the two are pretty obvious. These blue sponges being the thicker sponge of the two. Nonetheless, they are both from the Scotch Brite brand and I happen to find this brand to be a trusted one as I've had only positive experiences with these two varieties of this brands sponges. I especially like how long the sponges last before having to switch out for a new one. However, this is a specific type of experience that is likely quite different depending on the person using the sponge. We all have different factors we go by to determine when we believe it is indeed time to throw the current sponge out and replace with a brand new one. Personally, I disinfect my sponge that I use daily doing dishes ATLEAST three times per week by running it under warm water while continuously squeezing all of the water out over n over for like 30 seconds or so before placing it in the microwave for 2 minutes. I feel this has much to do with the length of time I am able to get out of each sponge. Do not trust the sponges you can find at the dollar tree that are NOT from Scotch Brite, but do indeed very closely resemble the yellow and green sponges. Trust me when I tell you that the quality between those from dollar tree and the ones made by Scotch Brite are very noticeably different and it is simply not a good choice either financially nor domestically....in my opinion , of course. For a good, quality standard sponge whether for dishes or other home cleaning tasks .... I definitely recommend these gems right here made by the lovely folks at Scotch Brite!
