I bought this watch almost 2 years ago, and I'm truly satisfied. It has worked perfectly all this time, it's durable, and also very easy to customize since there are many strap options available in the market. In my case, I bought a brown leather one, and it adds the touch I was looking for. Its mechanism works very well, and the time deviation is minimal. I believe it's a fantastic choice as an automatic watch considering what's available in the market.

I wanted to get a Seiko because I love the designs and brand. This watch delivers on all fronts and is amazing at being my every day watch. The band is not amazing quality however it isn't the worst thing in the world, and with the right tool you can change it to a nice $20 leather band. The watch itself is pretty small and I like it better that way, very much an every day watch. It is heavy and the noise level is pretty minimal. The best part is the watch charges through using it every day, so no battery needed! Good watch, would get again.

I've lately become very interested in the world pf mechinical watches. So, I ditched my smart watch and started with this one. It's pretty small on my wrist, but it looks great.I like seeing the movements through the transparant back.My only gripe is that the seconds apear around the outside of the face, and the hours are on the inside. I should hav epaid closer attention to thatas it's a little hard to read.It does have some clow effect too, which is nice.

Seiko makes a nice reliable watch.

This is my first mechanical watch. I normally wear a G-Shock but I wanted something for casual to dressy (not black tie) situations. This is exactly what I wanted and expected - A nice looking, accurate timepiece that does a fine job for the price point.I immediately swapped the nylon strap for a leather one and it wears comfortably. The diameter is slightly on the small side which is fine by me but may not be your style so you'll have to take that into consideration. The lume is nice and works well. I know it's a nitpick but I wish the 12:00 position had slightly a slightly different lume shape/size to keep you from second guessing yourself when looking at the watch in total darkness.If it sounds like something you'd enjoy on your wrist go for it!

After several years runs a little slow but I have never had it serviced either, love the material used for the wrist band.

This is my first automatic watch and also my first Seiko. I'm very happy with it. I changed out the wash straps and bought an olive drab nylons drop and also a silicon black strap. The watch keeps time very well. I love that it's not huge, only 37 mm. I also really like that. The watch isn't very thick so it doesn't stick out that far from my wrist. I do wish it had a better water resistance rate rating, but for my needs it's perfect. I hope this watch will last me for the next 10 years

The time on the Seiko5 SNK809 is very accurate and the power reserve is pretty decent. if you're constantly wearing it, the automatic movement will undoubtedly keep it going. That's great in the event of an EMP strike that fries all of our electronics so it's a great watch for a prepper. Only concern in that scenario is forgetting to wind it and losing track of time. Just keep a G-shock in a faraday cage bag along with your other survival electronics like USB rechargeable batteries, electric lighters, radios, etc. so you can always reference the G-shock for time when setting your automatics and you should be good to go.The only 2 downsides I could find are the cheap strap (which I immediately replaced with a Ritche 18mm black vintage leather strap) and the 30m of water resistance which is better than nothing. 100m would be nice though. Not going to take a star off for either of those reasons though because they may be a big factor in why this watch is more reasonably priced than others in its category.The price fluctuates. If you can get one for under a 100 dollars these days it's a steal, but even if it's under 200 it's still worth it in my opinion. If it goes even higher then it might be time to consider other options though. For 200 I also bought a Bulova Hack Veterans Watchmaking Initiative watch and it's similar to this one in some ways but also includes hacking and hand winding in addition to automatic movement. Something to consider if the price gets much higher on this Seiko.

This was my first 37mm watch was kinda small on my wrist with factory strap so put a nato on it and now it feels like it sits better on my wrist

Loved wearing this watch every day for a year and a half until it started running fast. I like the automatic winder mechanism, the clear high contrast face is easy to read. The date and day are very legible. It was a pain to reset the time and date if I didn't where it over the weekend sometimes misleading me with the time. Well worth the $90 I spent.

I bought this watch 9 years ago and decided to buy a green one like it. I was surprised to see that the watch I bought for $49 was now $150! Wish I had bought another sooner. It is a tank of a watch. Highly recommend.

This is an automatic watch, nice and out of stock, that is, Seiko do not produce this item, yet.I am happy with my old Seiko 5 watches.
