- Turbo: The Turbo State charges the battery at the optimal output of the charger, reducing the time it takes to charge the battery
- Absorption: An increased Absorption State delivers a constant charge for a set period of time to ensure that the battery receives a full and complete charge
- Float Charge: Once the battery has been fully charged, the Float State maintains a full charge to the battery, while minimizing "gassing"
- Equalization: If the battery has remained in the Float State for seven days, the IQ automatically provides an equalization charge to dissolve any sulfate layer on the battery's plates and to avoid stratification

The IQ4 TURBO delivers a powerful yet controlled voltage to help charge batteries in minimal time. Perfect for batteries that are used frequently but with limited time for re-charge, such as when connected to a generator or solar panel system. The IQ4 TURBO Smart Charge Controller easily plugs into the Dual Voltage Jack of your IOTA DLS Battery Charger. Once plugged in, the IQ Smart Charge circuitry is automatically engaged and your IQ module will activate. Your DLS will now provide an automatic and trouble free charging profile to your batteries! Note: External IOTA IQ Smart Charge Controllers are not compatible with DLS units with internal IQ charge controllers.
Smart Charger - The IQ Smart Charger offers automatic charging control for DLS battery chargers, providing longer and safer use of your systems battery. The IQ controller allows the battery charge r to operate as an automatic 3-stage "smart charger". This gives the user the benefit of bulk, absorption, and float stage charging, decreases charge times, insures proper and safe battery charging , and minimizes over-charging. The IQ monitors the battery at all times. If the DLS voltage remains in the long term float stage for more than seven days, the IQ Smart Charger will automatically deliver a boost charge for a predetermined time, then return to the normal float stage. DLS units are also available with the IQ Smart Charger internally installed within the unit. Model # IQ4
