This little lock as perfect for my mailbox as my old one rusted out. They give you a few different locking mechanisms so there should be one that fits most mail boxes. It works great and locki amd unlock with the key is nice and smooth. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because it didn't quite fit the lock hole perfectly flush. I might have an old cast iron mail box that is probably something like 25 years old. The round hole has a little lip on it which I would imagine helps keep out water when it rains. But the lock barely fits right in the hole because if this so I had to place it, remove, and re-position again quite a few times to get it to be level and lock in place. It might just be my old mail box. But it works great and I recommend it.

Super smooth! It took me a while to find the correct latch for the mailbox I ended up asking my mailbox neighbor if I could peak at his and, luckily, his latch was imprinted with the same number. Once I identified the correct latch, position and direction, it was a cinch! Honestly, the directions weren't very useful, but I've done this once before, so prior experience slowly returned to my memory.Once installed, the lock was a bit smaller than the pre-cut hole, but not enough for me to be concerned. And, the lock itself is SO SMOOTH! The last replacement lock I purchased was sticky from the factory start. Similar price point, completely disparate quality. This is an excellent lock. I'm glad I purchased the 2-pack, however, I doubt I'll need the second.

Easy to install lots of spare stuff for various lock sizes. I only wish it came with 3 keys vs two. Took 5 mins. My main advice is hand tighten nut vs using drill so you don't risk messing up lock.

The hardest part about replacing the lock was getting the old lock off and figuring out how to remove it from the small opening on the mailbox door. The new lock went in like a breeze and literally took me 30 seconds to install.....

it works..they are giving far many additional pieces.. so it can fit to any box.the outside diameter of lock is little smaller than default mailbox lock and just fit right over in size to cover flip door hole. so was little concern over during rain time.. but no issue with water licking so far. (installed in CA)

My mailbox lock broke and the door was hanging open, mailman kept delivering mail anyway. Last time we had lost a key and I paid a Locksmith $100 to come out. He just replaced the lock and gave us new keys. This time I decided to see if I could do it myself..OMG, yes, you can!! You need a screwdriver and a pair of pliers. The longest part was I put the lock in backwards and the lock couldn't latch all the way to shut the door. Once I figured that out, after trying every single included latch, it was easy. You have to hammer a bit on the clip that secures it to the inside of the door. Just pay attention to how your old lock comes out and save the old latch in case the new ones don't fit. The lock looks exactly like the old one, so hoping it last just as long.
