Mission: Saving Graces 4 Felines was founded in 2002 to help the many abandoned, stray and feral cats barely surviving around us, in less than desirable conditions. Our area, like many, has an issue with pet abandonment at the end of each semester and by people moving on from short-term rentals. Hurricanes Floyd and Florence exacerbated the problem, when escaping humans had to leave countless pets to fend for themselves. Unfortunately, the animals have learned the dumpsters of our many restaurants are reliable sources of food. Our goal is to reduce animal suffering in our communities by rescuing these cats and keeping them healthy and happy in foster families while they wait for their forever homes. We continue our Trap/Neuter/Return program for feral cat population control, our periodic low cost Spay/Neuter days for low-income family pets and our dedication to education.
Results: Over 6000 cats adopted!1000s of feral cats spayed or neutered
Target demographics: stop the suffering of abandoned, stray and feral cats
Direct beneficiaries per year: 134 homeless cats adopted and 500 feral cats neutered in 2018
Geographic areas served: Pitt County and other areas of Eastern North Carolina
Programs: a. ) Foster homes for abandoned and stray cats waiting for forever homesb. ) Meet Our Cats 7 days per month for people to interact with some of our cats and apply for adoptionc. ) Partnering with the local WITN TV news broadcast to highlight a different cat each Fridayd. ) Trap/ neuter/ return in feral cat colonies to reduce overpopulatione. ) Periodic low cost spay/neuter days for low income family petsf. ) Continued education about responsible pet ownership
