If you want to teach your kid to read. This is the perfect way to do it. They are short story books that kids pick up on easily.

These have been great for my 5 year old learning how to learn. He feels so confident every time he reads an entire book by himself. He started with these before he understood sounding out a word. Now he can read it without very much help.

I just bought these for my niece who has shown herself to be a precocious learner-- she turns 3 next week and is already reading letters. I was swayed towards them because I used Bob Books to teach myself to read when I was 4, waay back in 1995! Reading has been a vital outlet my entire life, so even thinking of Bob Books makes me warm and fuzzy. I'll update when I know how my niece does with them!

My 3-yr old started reading these right away.These are simple enough and not overstimulating which then allows the child to focus only on the reading.

I did a lot of research before purchasing any beginner readers. I honestly didn’t think my son would like the Bob Books but decided to try them anyway because of the great reviews. Well, my son ended up loving these so much that I purchased two more sets. I find the illustrations to be boring and thought he would also but he really enjoys reading them. He finds them silly and asks for Bob Books quite often. My son also enjoys the non fiction readers by Lakeshore Learning. They are expensive but worth the money. So exciting to see my son read. I will be purchasing more Bob Books after he is finished with the other sets and am excited to introduce them to my younger son as well.

Ordered two sets of these for two grandchildren (about the same age). The books were too easy for one somewhat difficult for the other. I guess it just depends where they are in the learning experience.
