Easy to install and works. One oddity, the manual says don't use an extension cord, yet the cord on the unit is like 6 inches long. It's tricky trying to park that close to the wall outlet.

I have 3 of these which are used in static locations to charge lead acid storage cells.They have been in use for 6 years without problems. One has malfunctioned and is currently being replacedby the same type of unit. They certainly do prolong the life of the batteries..

It's a bummer to go out and want to use a seldom used vehicle and find the battery dead. These chargers usually last 3 or 4 years

I don't use my truck every day. When I did want to use it I frequently found a dead battery. This keeps battery from lasting very long.I had purchased one of these for my motor home 5 years ago and it worked so well I decided to get a new one for my truck.This is a fantastice product and very well priced and should last for a long time. I mounted under hood and have easy access to plug neat front tire.

Make sure you understand what this product is designed to do. Don't rely on charging batteries up with this, great for batteries that are a few volts low.

These trickle charges are designed to be installed in the vehicle. Perfect for seasonal or little-used cars. It's always there and ready; simply open the hood, bring a power cord over, and done. No fumbling with wires and clips, or storing the charger when not in use. Recommended.

I was looking for this exactly. A mountable weatherproof maintenance charger for a hunting fishing truck. Now despite what some people say, this charger is awesome. If you have a junk battery, it's not going to work right. But I know my battery was good, and it charged it up actually quite quickly, and now I never need to wonder if the battery is drained. I highly recommend this product, and I've been a professional mechanic for 23 years.

This charger/maintainer installs easily and is not bothered one bit by parasitic drain on the battery. If you put a digital voltmeter on the battery, it will show various readings from about 12.8 to 13.7, depending on many factors including temperature. The reading may be different each time you check it. This behavior is correct and indicates the charger is following its program to prevent sulfation and maintain the battery in good health.
