Overall, the product is great, but the 12V wires are only 12 long and should be made 4-6 longer. I made it work by splicing in additional wire.

I have a trickle charger on all of my vehicles here in Alaska. A must have during winters. Keeps my batteries charged so they don't freeze during winter. This one is for my side-by-side. I have only one grip about this particular trickle charger: the length of the outlet cable. Easily fixed with a small extension cable.

I have used these for years. They can be used to keep the battery in classic cars alive. If your battery is discharged, it will take time (a couple of days) to recharge it using this unit.Where this unit works well is to keep a full battery ready to go despite the small current draws from alarms, stereos etc over time.And it can stay wired up under the hood so connecting and disconnecting the charger to go for a drive is easy.

My only prpblem with this tool is the requirement to use an extention cord to run a connection to a point to connect to AC to avoid raising the hood. I use it with my Corvette because it is not driven much in Winter.

Very easy install, coupled with the block heater, i think the truck is going to have a much easier time this winter.

My 1977 MGB had a Schumacher SE 112S maintainer installed when I bought it and did a great job of maintaining my Interstate MT-24 battery for 17 years! However, after putting in a new battery it didn't sound right and the charge light never came on so I purchased the SC1300 as a replacement.I needed to extend the wires to the battery and found the prior install had done the same. I tested with the extended wires and all was OK so made some permanent connections. The wires from the unit to the battery are around 12 inches without extending. The new unit works well and the lights are clear and obvious of the current state. Hoping this will perform well and also make the current battery last 17 years! Unfortunately this didn't have the same mounting options so I couldn't re-use the existing mounting hardware.

Bought this to install on my Porsche 911 to keep the battery fresh. Was hoping to install somewhat elegantly in the frunk but had to modify the cables to attach the tender to the battery. Since the plug end is too short, I'm not able to leave it connected without leaving the frunk lid slightly open. I like Schumacher products but, not unlike the other reviewers, would have preferred 2-3' of cables on both sides.

Have a lawn tractor with a battery. Don't use in the summer months (use as a snow plow in the winter) and need to maintain charge in the battery. This unit works well for my purposes.

Put on tractor mainly for long winter storage easy install fits nice under the hood

I like the battery tender for my old truck just tuck this in the fender and plug it in when I need it!

Installing can be difficult but depends on vehicle, the plug cable is short (about 4in long) but connections to battery are long and works great.

Have not yet installed it, but soon will. The written instructions were of no help and even incorrect. They concerned any charger, but not for one permanebtly installed. Useless.

Have 5 installed on vehicles and 2 on a D6 Cat with dual batteries. Works well topping off the batteries and keeping them up and ready- especially in the winter. Have had to replace a couple over the years but overall satisfied. Wish the leads had a quick disconnect to swap out units or to rotate to other rigs without having to remove battery cables but that's not a real issue. These are nice onboard chargers/maintainers
