Only problem with this was user error I should have bought the adapter to go in the tracks on the kayak but overall this is a great product.

I like these for the price on my kayak. Doesn't take too much effort to adjust, holds s spinning reel with ease and a baitcaster decently well. If you have any rods with a big knob on the end that will cause you an issue, but otherwise these are fairly generic. I've got a transducer swing arm that also fits the mounts which is nice. I've trolled a lot of medium crankbaits out of these and they've held up well. If you're trolling make sure to set your drag and ideally use a moderate action rod so you have that extra second to get the rod out of the holder. I've got a Predator kayak so I just mounted a couple of these to the mount plates with brass bolts.

I’ve had these on two earlier boats, and when I bought my new boat I ordered them immediately. I’ve had the expensive metal ones, and these work just as good and better, because they don’t reck the butts of your rods like the metal ones do. The price is much better also.

It just got pulled off my Kayak by a bush. It was brand new. My kayaks rod holder do a better job. I called Scotty a week ago and they haven’t replied back yet. I’m not worried about the rod holder but my $300 rod and reel that was lost because the Scotty didn’t hold.

**I’ll change my review if the problem improves**<br />My particular item has a hard time disconnecting from the mount. It’s supposed to easily and simply detach. Mine just does not. My buddies all have the same mount on their kayaks and it works great. I think mine may just be a defect. I’d love to return it but I’ve already gooped in on and mounted it to my yak. Ugh!! Make sure you do a trial attach/detach before you mount yours!!
