I'm a huge fan of Doctor Who, the BBC, and mugs. This mug most comfortably holds 8 to 10 ounces. I purchased the seventh doctor mug because he is my favorite doctor, but after it arrived I discovered that the hat is actually an excellent temporary tea bag receptacle! My only complaint is how fragile the bottom edges of the mug are. There is no foam or rubber on the bottom to protect these edges from tables our counter tops. The mug may be best used as a display piece since even setting it down on a hard surface may cause chipping.
