I bought these rail mounts for a solar panel. The pair are very well made and the inserts accommodated my 1 inch rail perfectly. All the pieces for installation came as advertised.

These worked great to use as a base to attach an outrigger to wife's kayak. But after all the installation work, making outriggers etc. wife decided she didn't like them and preferred to paddle without em. Oh well.

I attached three of these to a hard life sling box that mounts to the sailboat stern pulpit and am very happy with it. This box needs to come off every fall and go back on in spring, and these devices streamline a previously 1.5 hr process of using screws and nuts to something closer to 10 minutes. Result is quite secure. Comes with rubber spacers to accommodate 7/8”, 1” and 1-1/8 rails. They are a little overbuilt and solid.Great!

be tricky to install. These look to be very well made. The plastic is dense and solid...the rubber adapters for fitting different rail sizes look to be of good quality.the tricky part with these is how to attach an object to the top portion of bracket. there are 3 mounting holes, and the spacing could make it difficult to mount on some objects easily and cleanly...you can certainly drill thru the top of the object you're mounting, but if it's a solar panel your options are a bit limiting. most panels wave narrow frames and you'll need to fabricate a mounting surface. if the bracket had a different hole mounting configuration it would be easier.

Great so far-- we hold a 50W solar panel on our 7/8 stainless steel boat rail. It works like a charm and holds it steady.

Adaptable to different rail diameters and materials are suitable for ocean exposure. I will purchase additional as additional applications for rail-mounted come up.

They're made of nylon which is a very strong plastic. All metal components are stainless steel (probably 304) so should be reasonably rust resistant.
