Programs: During 2017,5 ships (the martin sheen, farley mowat, mv john paul dejoria, sam simon and sharpie) were in operation to support the various campaigns of the organization.

operation milagro-sea of cortez mexico: sea shepherd's ships, the mv john paul dejoria, farley mowat and sharpie are patrolling and protecting the vaquita refuge to save this critically endangered marine mammal and other species that inhabit the upper gulf of california.

galapagos islands - anti-smuggling: sea shepherd cooperates with ecuadorian public insititutions in the conservation of the natural protected areas in galapagos, in the protection of marine species, and in education and environmental awareness.

operation treasured islands/panama:sea shepherd is working with mexican authorities to patrol and defend this protected marine reserve and with scientists to research several of the diverse marine species native to the area including whale sharks, scalloped hammerheads, and false killer whales.
