I owned and used one of these FX2000 guns for a few years and used it in my shop regularly. I'm old school and never have been able to get the hang of an HVLP. This is a conventional top feed gun that meets the government specs for overspray. For those of you saying you have to use 80 psi. to good results, I suspect you need to reduce your paint a bit more. Also those who try to compare this to a $35 HF gun, well, they are now charging $150 to $200 for a comparable spray gun. I would definitely recommend this gun.UPDATE The issue with poor feed happened to me today and the issue is that the hole in the cap of the cup gets plugged. It's too small. Take an awl and punch it out a little. The paint will come out great.

This is my second Finnex 2000 1.4 conventional spray gun. Gave first one to my son. Works great. No leakage at cup or defects. Would prefer screw on paint cap, plastic press on does the job.Got 3M air regulator also for precise air flow.Painted 64 GTO with PPG single stage and clear coat. Looks as good as $600. Guns. Unlike HVLP guns, this moves material much slower, requires much higher pressures, and requires more thinning of paints, but works well with my old low SCFM output 1 HP compressor. I'm glad to find this gun among all the HVLP guns out there and note that it doesn't even vaporize the paint like an HVLP gun I have been using at lower pressures. That is to say, there is less material left floating in the air. Using this gun was a pleasant change back to the way it used to be with my old DeVilbiss paint gun. Note however, that I found I needed a rather high pressure (80psi) for the auto paint used (urethane) even after thinning, so pretest your painting pattern so that you don't paint too thick of a material as new paint formulas are intended for high flow HVLP guns. Results were good, but I should have practiced first to get the right mixture.

I use this gun 5 days a week and it holds up great I know the price can be misleading but don't let the low price fool you to think that this gun is low-quality this is a very great gun I would recommend it for all first time hvlp painters
