Mission: Shining Light in Darkness (SLID) is the voice of victims and survivors. SLID mission is to provide holistic healing to meet the needs primarily of the under-served victims and survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. SLID also carries out programs to prevent sexual assault and domestic violence, help survivors, increasing understanding of the impact of sexual assault and domestic violence.

Target demographics: The underserved victims and survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. The underserved population we focus are Women of Color, LGBTQIA+, Men (male victims & survivors), People with Disabilities, and Veterans (and the general public, we never turn any victims or survivors away).

Geographic areas served: North Carolina in the RTP

Programs: Support Groups, Give a Shining Smile Back (GASSB) is a program focuses on helping to rebuild the smiles and lives of victims and survivors who’ve suffered dental injuries from domestic or sexual violence using compassionate cosmetic dental services and support programs.
