Mission: The Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission exists to pursue the passion of Jesus Christ to lift up the hungry, homeless, abused and addicted.
Target demographics: hurting and homeless men, women and children
Direct beneficiaries per year: 1,068 homeless men, women and children
Geographic areas served: Shreveport/Bossier City in Northwest Louisiana
Programs: To break the cycle of homelessness and poverty, the Mission provides a full-scale Life Recovery Program. All individuals in the Life Recovery Program have access to many services including one on one life coaching, small/large group classes, essential life skills education, and on-site medical and dental services. Under the Life Recovery Program, guests can be a part of our Guest Program (temporary emergency shelter), Work Program (geared towards those with full-time employment), and our Discipleship Program (a 10-month long term recovery program). In addition, guests receive vocational training in various fields including merchandising, janitorial services, maintenance, clerical office support, heavy machinery operation, culinary arts and more.
