Mission: Sight Loss Services programs are geared toward helping to reduce the fears and isolation caused by the onset of vision loss and toward helping to simplify the mechanics of daily living. Based on a "peer support and self help" philosophy, Sight Loss Services aims to foster an individual''s sense of self worth and independence and to point the way for him/her to help others.

Target demographics: the newly blind, the visually impaired, and those with progressive eye disease

Direct beneficiaries per year: 10,405 units of service to 2,048 unduplicated contacts

Geographic areas served: Massachusetts on Cape Cod and the Islands

Programs: Sight Loss offers eleven Self Help Support Groups throughout Cape Cod, an extensive and up-to-date Information and Referral Network, Outreach/Home Independence training, Educational presentations and distributions, and an Adaptive Aids station with devices designed to assist the visually impaired.
