I think this is an ok palm sander. If you only use it once in a while. It is not made for regular use. I think the pad is too big to easily secure a standard size piece of paper that is 1/4th of a full sheet. This makes it incredibly difficult to put the paper on to use it. If you're going to be using it not very often, more for a simple project here and there, then it's fine. But if you are going to use it very often, or you plan on using it as a professional, I would keep looking, if you're going to be going through a lot of paper and changing it out often....this is not the tool for you. You will get frustrate, and then not happy that you spent money and are having a hard time every time you need to change the paper. Its a great company, but they made an error when they....upgraded their sander.

I purchased the Skil quarter-sheet sander with the filter attachment. The filter has to be cleaned frequently but I prefer it over my other sander that does not have an attached filter. I priced the filter by itself and was surprised at the cost. I decided to give this review only 4 stars.

Would have appreciated knowing I would be sent a used sander.The pressure detection is useless. You get identical feedback just listening to the motor strain. You don't need the lousy indicator.The flat surface behind the sandpaper isn't especially flat. About a half inch along one edge drops off a visible amount.It does shake around a bit like a sander should.

So far this little sander is holding up but hasn't been used heavily. I don't use the paper with holes tho, hard to find so I haven't used the dust filter either. Bought this for small jobs here and there. Handles well.

Don't look for anything fancy with this little sander. There is no option for different patterns or variable speeds, but I have been using this to knock down the surface of rough sawn Hemlock and sand an exterior window sill I am preparing and it is up to every job. I like that it does not have a real aggressive motion so it reduces the vibration in my hands (thank you arthritis) but still gets the job done. At this price point you will not find a better sanding tool.

I'm very impressed with this sander. Definitely gets the job done. Like the “dust collector attachment “, didn't think I needed it but it really is a plus! Very easy to attach sandpaper to sander. Very happy with this product.
