Mission: OUR MISSION To Rescue at risk mustangs and burros from across AmericaAs well as providing a home and freedom for these horses we aim to increase public awareness of the mustang issues, showcase herd dynamics, and the general and historical value of America's wild horses through media and social networks. Skydog Ranch hopes to show that wild horses can co-exist on the open range in ecological balance with many species of wildlife, and demonstrate how to best manage land to increase carrying capacity and reverse range degradation. We also aim for Skydog Sanctuary to be a place of peace and healing for our volunteers in both Oregon and California who are able to come and spend time with the wild ones in nature and be around these beautiful rescued horses.

Results: To date, Skydog cares for 90+ mustangs and burros saved from killpens, auctions and dire situations who now run free in family groups on our 9000 acres ranch in Oregon or our two ranches in CA.

Target demographics: Wild mustangs & burros or formerly wild mustangs who are in dire situations, kill pens or auction yards.

Direct beneficiaries per year: 60+ threatened mustangs to find safety and life - either on our ranch or paid for bail/transportation/medical services for mustangs to go to known alternative rescues.

Geographic areas served: Prineville, OR, Malibu, CA and Mariposa, CA.

Programs: Skydog Ranch employs people in recovery who are actively working 12 step programs as well as military veterans as we believe that they and the horses form a unique bond, both having come from situations that tested them emotionally and physically.
