Programs: Soldier's best friend is solely focused on placing & training service dogs or therapeutic companion dogs with united states military veterans living with combat related post traumatic stress disorder (ptsd) and/or traumatic brain injury (tbi). We strive to adopt and place homeless dogs from shelters or rescues as often as possible in service to our veterans. All expenses incurred by soldier's best friend support this program. Key accomplishments for 2016 are as follows: training campus: in 2016 we successfully completed construction and opened our peoria training campus, allowing us to expand our service to benefit more veterans and homeless dogs. The training campus offers freedom from distractions and a wider range of training hours, including nights and weekend training sessions. See form 990 schedule o.
