Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals

Mission: Spay Neuter Networks mission is to eliminate pet overpopulation through subsidized spay/neuter services, while empowering communities to care responsibly for their pets. We serve 13 North Texas counties with a combined population of more than 1.5 million individuals.

Results: Our goal is to end unnecessary euthanasia and pet overpopulation in North Texas. The need in our community is large and we are in a constant state of calculated growth in order to better address the need. In 2016, we provided 17,500 surgeries; in 2017, we provided more than 25,000 thanks to the addition of our second stationary clinic. In 2018, we exceeded 30,000 surgeries. Since our program launch in 2004, we have altered more than 180,000 pets and vaccinated more than 350,000! Spay Neuter Network works to achieve our goals by: offering free and low-cost spay/neuter surgeries and vaccinations to impoverished, low-income, and under-served pet owners; removing the barriers to veterinary care by bringing care directly into the communities with greatest need using our animal transports and Mobile Animal Surgical Hospital; building relationships and educating the citizens of North Texas on responsible pet ownership through door-to-door community outreach; educating children on pet safety and responsible pet ownership through partnerships with their schools; developing innovative programs that keep pets in homes and out of shelters; providing veterinary students with the specialized training they need to be able to work in high-volume spay/neuter clinics and animal shelters upon graduation; working with legislators on a local level to create humane laws and ordinances that protect our citizens and animals; increasing compliance with animal laws such as mandatory spay/neuter, micorchipping, and rabies vaccination laws; increasing adoptions through shelters and other humane organizations by supporting their lifesaving efforts.
