Mission: Founded in 1970, Special Olympics Montana is a provider of year-round, statewide programs of physical fitness, sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities and closely related developmental disabilities. Nearly 2,200 athletes participate in 14 Olympic-type sports throughout the year, including aquatics, gymnastics, basketball, golf, snowboarding, cycling, bowling, powerlifting and soccer. Special Olympics Montana gives children and adults continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. (Less)
