Mission: The mission of Special Olympics Oregon is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community. Special Olympics Oregon offers training and competition opportunities in 15 different Olympic-style sports and serves close to 5,000 athletes throughout the state. With four State Games events and 14 Regional Competitions, Special Olympics Oregon holds events in every region of the state, every month of the year. (Less)
