These are well worth their price. Work beautifully. I used Paraffin oil in mine and they work great. I bought 2. They also work well with Tiki oil.

They looked great, and would work for me, just fine . Filled the lamps 1/2 way, put on the table, when came back 20 mins, the oil was all over floor and chair were it ran out of the base, both leaked. Sanding base down, little epoxy around base, repaint, should be fine. It's a 60 mile round trip to mail it back $5.00 gal gas,it's cheaper to keep and fix it. No cheers today, not a good deal.

Everything functioned on arrival: the wick adjustment, the globe lifter, the fuel reservoir and cap, the handle all wrk as they should, however it cannot be denied that these lamps are cheaply Constructed and will not standup to rough use.The good news is these lamps are perfectly capable of sitting on a table or hang from a hook and providing steady light. When the wick is adjusted properly the light it provides is many time brighter than that of a candles, with little to no visible smoke, and is highly resistant to flicker or blowing out. Some reviews say their reservoir leaked. Having taken advise from another reviewer, I only fill to just below the half way point, so far the ones I bought haven't leaked, and still provide hours of light on one fill.I like these lamps, and since I only need them for occasional use and in the mean time keep them stored in the garage, I think what may lack in construction and material quality is made up for in price. I bought 3 of these and and I think they were a good deal.

Actually one of the lamps I ordered can be used as a lamp when electricity is out, but one leaks at every seam and hands get drenched trying to handle it. Love the one that works it's wonderful.

Almost a little too light. So far it's holding up to my use and I tend to be a bit rough on camping gear.

The wick in the two I bought had a 3/8 inch wick DO NOT USE WITH THIS WICK you could have a run away flame. This lantern is a copy of the Dietz 20 which takes a 5/8 wick but a 1/2 inch wick is the one I replace my 3/8 wick with. Over the ones I have are good with no leaks just never over fill. 7 oz is enough. The Dietz20 is a 9 oz but better safe. Never let the lantern run out of fuel it may anve s run away flame amd as fire!

I did not feel like messing around with solder or anything that takes away from how it looks, so I used Permatex window and glass sealant. It was used for a couple of hours a day after it was sealed and it worked well. It does feel cheap because it is lightweight, but it has been knocked over by my dog and survived.

Been using this style of lamp all of my life. Had these on the farm as a child, and they were always a part of life back then. They work great out of doors as well as inside and we've never had an issue with these in either situation. Today's oil is much safer than the kerosene we used to use, and its smells better burning too. Heck, the Mrs even found scented oils, and we keep one loaded with an insect repellant oil for the back patio. In today's on again, off again power grid, I'd always have several of these lamps available for those times when the power fails. Their softer light is comforting, and there is just a little warmth they give off too. Much cheaper in the long run than batteries and bulbs. Just be aware these use an open flame and fuel oil, so keep away from todays kids.
