Back in the early 70's, when I was a Boy Scout, I was introduced to a thing called a tube tent. And it's exactly what it sounds like it is: a giant tube, made of nylon (back then, anyway), that one can use as a tent in an emergency.Setting it up was simple - just run a length of rope through it, tie the rope to a tree or other elevated structure at both ends, and then lay some rocks or other weights on the ground along either side. There you are - instant shelter!Sort of. No doors, no protection from bugs or curious critters that might snoop around in the dark. But at least it's some protection from the elements.Of course, this is an emergency item, though I suppose ultralight hikers could use it if they can't afford those high-tech bivvies.Well, that's what this is for. I know I likely will never actually need it, but having something like this in a bugout bag can't hurt. It doesn't weigh anything to mention, and it is compact, so why not?The punchline, of course, is that since this is a for emergency only thing, I haven't used it because I haven't had an emergency. Which means I can't really review how well it works since I haven't used it because I haven't had an emergency. The nice thing is that the tent is made from the same thermally conservative material as those emergency blankets, so in theory it should provide a bit more protection from the cold than the old-kine nylon tube tents. Let's just hope I never have to find out.

This emergency test is great for packing in your emergency supplies or in your car. The small package fits almost anywhere. The thin tent material retains body heat and is waterproof to keep the rain off.

I always carry some kind of emergency supply's when on the road. Trying to teach my kids to do the same. Requested this after have them some of the blankets I carry in my car.I had expected this to be somewhat longer then it says on the box. Or maybe a little bigger. Glad I gave them the emergency blankets and kept this one. Neither her husband or my other half would fit. One is 6 ft 2 other is about 6 feet. Even I'm 5ft 8 . My daughter is maybe 5 ftb2 give or take an inch. The only ones who would fit are the kids. It's made of a decent material. But the size makes it less useful)l then it should or could be. When the listing said one size o guess I expected something more of a one size for adults . Where I come from e that would mean at least a )ittle over 6 feet or up to 6'6. Since average for the guys around her is prolly 6 feet give or take (unless you count my family where the majority are close to six and a half feet tall) .

This is very handy to have on hand. It is not the most durable product in the world, but it will be helpful for survival situation.
