Mission: Underprivileged families living in distressed communities of the Dominican Republic do not have the financial resources to prepare their children for the public school system, which requires that each child have a public school uniform, a PE uniform and basic school supplies - none of which are provided by the government. Without an education, many of these children will turn to drugs and prostitution. Starfish Missions seeks to provide these children with the resources they need to stay in school; giving them hope for the future and a better quality of life. Starfish Missions generates support from the general public, then travels to the Dominican Republic each Fall to prepare children for the upcoming school year by providing them uniforms and basic school supplies so that they can enroll in the public school system.
