Mission: State Street Community Church is a just and generous expression of the Christian faith through engaging food insecurity and loneliness (the Pax Center), education (State Street Preschool), nutrition (the Jackson Street Community Garden and the Brighton Street Green Space, and community understanding (Discussion Over Dinner. ) The Pax Center hosts weekly food pantries, community meals, garden programs, and a community clothes closet. The State Street Preschool is a virtue-oriented preschool for children of all economic classes. The Brighton Street Green Space has a community garden, Education Resource Center, and an acre-and-a-half of outdoor enjoyment in LaPorte's only food desert. The Jackson Street Community Garden has dozens of community garden boxes for individuals and families in LaPorte. Discussion Over Dinner is a regular podcasted conversation featuring local panelists about issues that impact LaPorte County residents (i. e. , hunger, racism, poverty, education, etc. ) State Street Community Church was started in 2010.

Results: Among many good outputs to celebrate, The Pax Center food pantry serves an average of 1,100 LaPorte County citizens each month. The Pax Center community meals provide an average of 150 hot meals each week. The Jackson Street Community Garden has fifty community garden boxes and many free u-pick boxes. The Kids Garden Club has forty area elementary age children.
