I'm pleasantly surprised at how much these hold! And the extra space on top is a double wow. Sure beats me using those two drawer filing cabinets! And that even held the file folders from the metal cabinets which is great.

THE FILES WERE ORDERED BECAUSE I LIKED THE ORIGINAL ONES I PURCHASED A FEW YEARS AGO AT A LOCAL BIG BOX STORE. THE LOCAL STORES NO CARRY A CHEAPER VERSION BY ANOTHER COMPANY. THIS MODEL HAS A STORAGE SELF FOR PAPER CLIPS AND THE FILE TABS PLUS PENS. THE TRACK RUNS THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE OPENINGS WHILE THE CHEAPER VERSIONS OFTEN HAVE A SHORTER TRACK WHICH CAUSES THE HANGING FILE FOLDERS TO SLIP OFF WHEN THE PORTABLE FILE IS MOVED.

A sturdy and convenient file box. I did not want to spend a lot of money to store files and papers, but I wanted a way to store files that was durable and still light weight. This file box fits the need perfectly ... it is a great way to store files. I have six of these and will order more when needed.

I have two of these now, one for personal files and one for joint files shared with my partner. I love the "just right" size, and ease of carrying with the comfortable handle.<br /><br />I'm a convert from some older, fabric/expanding files and will never be going back.<br /><br />I also love knowing how quick/easy this would be to grab in the case of a fire or other emergency.

This is the second one that I have bought. My wife uses this for her classroom, it does hold up well, and for being used two entire schools years on literarily every day of the week, it stood up. I decided to try one from a bigger retailer, it did not work out well. That one broke in two weeks. I will buy another one from here before trying to think about less money for short term solutions.

Everything is fine. This is a sturdy file case and easily holds my Pendaflex folders. The only problem is I hate to file and papers pile up on top of this file box but the box has no trouble supporting my unfiled papers.

If you are interesting in this file box because of the storage on the top, do not be. I had some lightweight stuff in the top and they all fell out. The "clasp" does not hold. I ended up just taping the thing shut. I am not sure I would trust this for carrying things around in it a lot. Mine is not carried much, so that has not been a problem.

Hinge on the "Portable" model was missing one of the two the plugs that hold it together. Even if it had it this is a weak designThe clear top storage area is also poorly designed and can easily pop open when you open the top, spilling the contents.
