Mission: First formed in 1997, Stolen Horse International, Inc. (SHI), brings attention to a major crime against horse lovers, horse theft. Each year in the US there are an estimated 40,000-55,000 horses stolen. The mission of SHI is to provide a comprehensive theft awareness and identification program to all facets of the horse industry and offer educational opportunities for horse enthusiasts of all types and across all disciplines. SHI gives assistance to victims in the recovery of missing horses through the NetPosse volunteer network. Many horses have been recovered as a result of swiftly distributed information and flyers via the internet. Over the years we have grown to help more people in more situations such as missing, lost, found, searching for a horse, searching for horse history and of course, stolen horses. Our educational programs are second to none and are based 100% on actual experience with victims.
