My wife and I shopped around for months for rain jackets from all different brands such as Patagonia, the North Face, LL Bean, and Dicks Sporting Goods when preparing to go to Acadia National Park up in Maine. After tons of research and review-reading, we've determined the Columbia Watertight II rain jacket is the best budget option out there!For a literal fraction (1/2th to 1/8th) of the price, the Columbia Watertight II rain jacket is really waterproof and keeps water from getting beneath the jacket. My biggest problem with rain jackets in the past is the breathability. I've always ended up wet from condensation or sweat anyways. What's the point of even wearing a rain jacket at that point? Until nowThis jacket is super breathable and comfortable. I don't have any issues with water seeping through the material, and the inner lining doesn't get caught on my limbs when putting this thing on. The jacket dries super quickly (within hours of a good rain), and it's perfect for hiking in the rain or other outdoor adventures.This being said, we couldn't be more thankful we bought our Columbia rain jackets. It was worth spending money on a quality and well-recognized brand without riding the Patagonia bandwagon.Note: For women, my wife bought the Columbia Women's Arcadia II rain jacket and it's fantastic!

TL:DR great jacket! Not a fake, just has different (admittedly cheaper) markings now.I've had this jacket for a while now and I'm very happy with it. It's waterproof and light, that's what I wanted and what I got. I've seen some reviews claiming they got counterfeit jackets because of changes to the logos on the product. They seem to have gotten the same version I did which is the same one you get if you buy it off the rack at a store. They changed the logo applications to a cheaper quality iron on sticker kind of thing. It is authentic and it works fine. It's just the newer version. Looks like they made this change in late 2018-early 2019.

Fits my body perfectly and isn't too tight or too loose. I have enough room to wear a sweater (not a hoodie necessarily) under this jacket.

Perfect for windy and semi cold climates this is what I wanted. The one I got was certified Columbia. Not sure when they were supposedly selling knock-offs, but this is the real deal. Great jacket 5/5

Bought for my brother. Very good quality, just exactly what he needed.

I bought a large. I'm 6'4, 180lbs, thin athletic build with longer arms. Fit is a little baggy but for what this is (a rain jacket) it's perfectly acceptable as this allows for:1. An underlayer, which you're going to need if it's wet AND cold.2. Greater airflow to help with breathability and moisture (sweat) buildup inside the jacket when its rainy and warm...or you're just active in the rain. The netting (omnicron tech) helps by keeping the outer shell off your skin. For those complaining about it not fitting skin tight, you really dont want that with a rain jacket built with this type of waterproof material since it doesn't breathe....this isn't gore-tex. Having it a tad bit baggy with the netting is ideal.As far as the claims go with this being fake, I highly doubt it. I believe the listing hasn't been updated to reflect the manufacturers cosmetic changes, which companies do due to whatever reason. My jacket is still waterproof and performs as expected. While it does not say packable anywhere, it still has the function as intended (see pic). In case you dont know how, simply pull the left pocket inside out and stuff the remainder of the jacket inside the pocket. The zipper has a double sided pull tab and will close accordingly.The only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is because of it's velcro overflap for the main zipper. While the overflap is needed to help keep water from leaking through, the zipper constantly snags when zipping/unzipping the jacket (even after intial velcro seperation..it'll just restick) so you have to be mindful...not a quick fluid action.Everything else is great: velcro tabs on the cuffs to tighten up and keep water out, drawstring on the waist to help keep moisture and drafts out, hood fits well, velcro tab on the collar to keep out water, etc etc.Unless you want to spend alot more money on a super high quality jacket made of gore-tex, or are happy with the non-breathability of those cheap plastic rain jackets they sell at the box chains for $20, this is an ideal, quality compromise between the two.

I dont like holding umbrellas. This is a great solution for rainy days. Good qualty
