My wife and I shopped around for months for rain jackets from all different brands such as Patagonia, the North Face, LL Bean, and Dicks Sporting Goods when preparing to go to Acadia National Park up in Maine. After tons of research and review-reading, we've determined the Columbia Watertight II rain jacket is the best budget option out there! For a literal fraction (1/2th to 1/8th) of the price, the Columbia Watertight II rain jacket is really waterproof and keeps water from getting beneath the jacket. My biggest problem with rain jackets in the past is the breathability. I've always ended up wet from condensation or sweat anyways. What's the point of even wearing a rain jacket at that point? Until nowThis jacket is super breathable and comfortable. I don't have any issues with water seeping through the material, and the inner lining doesn't get caught on my limbs when putting this thing on. The jacket dries super quickly (within hours of a good rain), and it's perfect for hiking in the rain or other outdoor adventures. This being said, we couldn't be more thankful we bought our Columbia rain jackets. It was worth spending money on a quality and well-recognized brand without riding the Patagonia bandwagon.Note: For women, my wife bought the Columbia Women's Arcadia II rain jacket and it's fantastic!
