I live in Los Angeles, the need for a cold weather jacket is not critical, but we do get some chilly nights in the winter, and I live my entire life at night.This XL jacket fits me perfectly at 5'111/2 and 270(ish)lbs.For me, I'll be wearing the jacket with just a t-shirt underneath. If I do have a shirt on, the jacket will probably only be zipped halfway ( I tend to run a little warm with outerwear.)I got the blue in order to detract from the overall militant look of the jacket, but I do like lots of pockets, and this one has enough for all my EDC gear.If you live in Kansas or Wisconsin you may need to order up a size and layer something under this - or just get a dedicated winter jacket.Live in a more meh winter area? This jacket should cover your needs.

Lots of pockets, resists water well. Will see how it holds up in freezing cold. Nice multilayer build.

This is a great, waterproof rain jacket, for mildly chilly or warm temperatures. Definitely not a winter coat, but nice. I thought it was a slim fit, there's no extra room for any layers, and my husband is very trim.

Need lower pockets and better strap for wrist, a bit hard and not as comfortable as it can be. Zipper under arms does not bother me but I don't like how its setup.
