I'd rate this 5 stars if not for a hilarious design defect with the side pockets. They are roomy, but extend upwards from the zipper opening instead of downward, so a lot of that space is really useless, and anything put in there is at high risk of falling out (already lost a couple items this way).

My son wears this a lot. He hates to wear his down jacket to school in the winter, so he wears this instead. It's wind proof and water proof.

This was the same type of jacket that I purchased from EB, but this was cheaper and I actually like the softshell better. I would buy this again instead of the EB alternative. The only real difference are the cuffs, which are elastic in EB version and velcro on this one.
