The sockets have the right size to slip over the ends of the volume and tone knob shafts with friction fit only. There are no splines that mate with the shafts to prevent them from spinning on the shaft and don't have as good as a friction fit as the factory splined knobs.

I was restoring an old Fender Stratocaster on which the preceding owner used some kind of permanent markers on the white knobs. Nothing would remove the ink.... so my only choice was to buy a new set of knobs. These were replacement knobs for the original and they worked quite well. Good value for the price.

These parts are exactly what I wanted and expected ,the control knobsAre simple press on installation , I added them to this 7 way SSH super strat.to give it that little extra style.

I put these fender cream knobs on my cherry burst les Paul and they match the tuner keys. I also bought the LP pick guard and the cream pickup rings. Very inexpensive and easy to do.
