Got it to replace busted out ARE camper shell locks. Everything is the same except for the depth. I had to drill and tap an 8-32 in the corner of the cam to get it working right. If you didn't need to Google drill and tap an 8-32 then stop hesitating. Quick and easy adaptation.

I bought an ARE utility topper and the key was supposed to come with it... Well, obviously it didn't so I started my YouTube search for a solution and ran across a video of a guy installing one of these on his topper for the same reason. I ordered 4 of them to replace all of my doors and must say that I'm beyond impressed! I was very skeptical at first and quickly that was turned into a believer. Using my Ford key I was able to insert it and turn the key clockwise about 270 degrees and bam it was done... Install was also simple as removing the E clip, shroud, and retainer nut. Then replace the old cylinder with the new BOLT cylinder and reinstall the hardware. I did all four locks including the programming in less than 30 minutes. Can't say enough good things about how awesome this experience was!

The the rear latch cylinder for my work pickup ARE topper had started failing. I called up fleet and they sent me to a only topper place that would take the fleet card, the local place said 2 weeks to get the cylinder and they'd need it for half a day to install. I'd like to support local but that's not going to work.I found the part here for less than $20 had it the next day and it took 10 mins to change out. I was a little worried that my key being so worn would be an issue, but it keyed with no issue and works great.

Need not to remove the whole locking system from shell only removed the lock cylinder and used my truck ignition key to code my new locks. One less key to carry.Nice

I bought an ARE DCU contractor cap used. The locks went to the old owners key/truck. So I bought 3 of these. Fit perfect, install was about 30 mins to do all 3. I've had them installed for 3 months now with zero issues.
