Use at this length (12) or cut to size. You will need to push the locking washer through to the end and use it on the cut piece. Works, as advertised.

These ladder extensions worked very well with the Stromberg style ladders that is typically mounted to the RVs in production in today's world. They are sturdy and the ones I got were painted black had all the nuts and bolts needed to complete the job of adding additional supports to the ladder. We all know that the manufacturers do not put enough supports to adequately support a full size human to go up and down the ladder. I recommend these highly.
