I use this for finding metal studs at work, but it also works for finding the nails inside of wooden studs, so it can virtually be used for either or. Great product!

I bought this in order to find drywall screws under the Sheetrock so I can remove drywall without destroying it in order to reuse the Sheetrock when I'm done. This magnet worked like a charm. When you come across a screw it sticks very strongly making it easy to remove the screw with a screw gun.

I saw this product in a YouTube video and it works exactly like it's supposed to. Amazing.

I've bought 4-5 digital stud finders but every single one of them has either not worked at all or has caused significant mistakes.Don't waste money on a fancy stud finder. This will always work. The only issue is that the magnetic metal ball will likely leave marks on walls painted with lighter colors.

Tried it on old and new sheetrock and it latches on to the screws and nails like a champ. Most fasteners were not visible before the test started. Good product.

I had purchased two different types of digital stud finders to try to find studs in our newly purchased home, which is OLD and has plaster and lath walls, those two stud finders were all over the place and very inaccurate with my walls. I looked up other options, watched videos about other methods, etc etc. One simple method suggested was using magnets. I found this Rack-A-Tiers studball and ordered it.It arrived an hour ago, and I've been finding nails/screws, and therefore, studs, behind the thick plaster and lath walls! All over the place! Studs were confirmed by moving the magnet vertically after finding a hit and finding other hits on the same vertical line and marking them... the vertical markings could not be any more clear in indicating a stud, and the spacings of the studs are just about 16 inches apart, confirmed with more vertical lines with multiple hits, marking it all out, it's beautiful.What a simple solution, the most straightforward one. My only gripe is I thought I was getting a pack of those things for some reason, it only comes as a single. Okay, I only really need one anyway. The magnet is just the right strength, it's not TOO strong, and it's definitely not too weak. I am very pleased and now can move forward with our plans!Got plaster and lath walls and need to find studs? Look no further!

Wish I had bought one of these years ago. Works faster and easier than both the electronic stud finders I have. Don't think about it, buy it!

Very useful

Easier to use than my expensive stud finder and finds more studs. I just put it on the fridge or side of metal toolbox. Be careful it is really strong. I dropped it in toolbox and it grabbed 5 items very very strongly.Highly recommend anyone doing renovations and even just hanging heavy items.

Does as it should. The round ball works better than a flat one. Got yellow. I thought they were all red. Oh well.

This makes a lot of sense and works very well if you know approx how far away the studs are!
