I was going to buy this but, couldn't justify $21.00 for a magnet. I use a regular magnet and get same results. Glad everybody else thinks its great and works for them.

Great for finding stud, however due to this finding the nails that mount the drywall to the stud, it is not a guarantee that this will identify the center of said stud

I have an older home, guessing that is why this one doesn't work well, though if it had the magnetic that it advertises, it should have worked, but didn't here.

Perfect for finding studs- but very hard to clean- metal from dirt, or screws can quickly get stuck in the groves- and pulling this in and out of the tool bag is tough with the strength and shape of the magnet
