Causes: Emergency Assistance, Human Services

Mission: We collect warming items called "Stay Alive 5" (coats, boots, hats, gloves and sleeping bags) and we go into the woods, alleys and under bridges to distribute these to the homeless. We help everybody that we find, but we are looking for veterans. When we find veterans, we gather enough information to re-find them and to look up what programs they are eligible to receive. Once we have that information, we help get them registered in the program, talking to the VA and other veterans services and, eventually, off the streets permanently.

Results: We started in 2008 and made 5 deliveries local. In 2019-2020, we delivered in 5 states, 21 cities and delivered 15,000 items.

Programs: To prevent the freezing and injury caused by extreme weather exposure to the homeless and financially destitute americans
