Mission: The mission of the Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) Foundation is to prevent death and disability from sudden cardiac arrest. The vision of the SCA Foundation is to increase awareness about SCA and influence attitudinal and behavioral changes that will reduce mortality and morbidity from SCA.

Target demographics: General public, sudden cardiac arrest patients and families, media

Direct beneficiaries per year: Hundreds of thousands of people with information resources via our website, bimonthly newsletters and social media outreach; thousands of people in our online community; and dozens of survivors and family members at national workshops.

Geographic areas served: the United States

Programs: EDUCATION: Our goal is to triple survival rates by arming the public with information that will help saves lives. Our education initiatives increase bystander action—from CPR training to public awareness campaigns. RESEARCH: We conduct research that not only saves lives but aids survivors. Our medical research helps us determine public understanding and improves information about the impact of SCA on the quality of life for both SCA patients and their families. COMMUNITY: We help thousands of families impacted SCA and provide community resources that are vital to survival—including AED donations to churches, schools, and other community locations.
