I have a small pool with a fountain. The pool has minnows, goldfish, occasionally a local frog, and water lilies in it. Over the years the water has turned bright green (that only happened once thankfully) and been quite cloudy. Once I started using these bales, the water has stayed crystal clear. You just float one in the water. I take it out if it sinks for some reason, then I let it dry on the front porch for a couple of days and put it back in. I think it only sinks on occasion because the neighborhood kids play in the fountain. I have these on auto order every six months so I never fun out. They are the best easy non toxic solution for keeping your pond or small pool water clear.
