...you want to avoid waking yourself up on the way to/from the bathroom at night. I bought these to help train our kids to not need so much light on at night. Too much brightness can wake you up to the point where it's hard to fall back asleep quickly. Kind of along the lines of why experts say not to be exposed to the blue light emitted from computer/phone screens in the 1-2 hours before bedtime. Even my kids' pediatrician recommended we buy/use red night light bulbs. The only negative in this review is that the last box I ordered was missing one nightlight bulb.
