I couldn't easily take my fixture down/apart to ID the ballast so I just bought 1 to try it. I got lucky, it lit right up without sound or flickering. My fixture is meant for 13W CFL, This is much brighter, even though it is only 9W.First pic is this bulb on left, with 13W CFL on right side of garage.Looking at it directly, even through the diffuser of the fixture is painful. That's the first closeup with the hotspot in the middle. The quick fix is to turn it around to light the inside of the fixture. (2nd closeup) Finally I lined the back of the fixure with glossy white paper. Now the fixture is more uniformly bright without the painful hot spot.I'm happy and will buy a 2nd one for the other side.Color temp is a bit cooler than the old-warm white CFL, but still white. Think hallogen bulb vs old school incandescent.
