I had to change the cord in my very old (approaching 50 yrs) Craftsman saw.Hard to find parts. Sure you can find parts but only the ones that never break!When I took the cord out the old switch literally fell apart! New one perfect!

This switch replaces the Chicago Electric miter saw switch. The mounting and wiring identical to the old switch. Need to use the new wiring screws, the old wiring screw won't fit.

I installed this SKILLSAW switch into an old ROCKWELL saw. It mounted perfectly, however the old switch had the contact screws on each end of the switch and this has them on back of the switch. Very little clearance between screw and saw body.

The 553 Skil saw is all metal; no cheap plastic. This saw is probably 70 years old and after replacing the switch works like new. It was used by my contractor Father-in-Law for years before he gave it to me in the 1970's! I can pass it on to my children.
