I needed to connect a string of Christmas lights on my house to an extension cord and could not find any 2-to-3 prong adapters in stores that would work for me. They all had the different-sized holes for the prongs which would not work for my lights. I bought this out of desperation, hoping it would work. Sure enough, it did! The holes are the same size. Yes, it's more expense than normal adapters. But given it was the only one I could find that would work I did not mind paying more.

Big box or neighborhood hardware stores don't have this type available. This is what I needed to hang up my Christmas lights outside.
