Bought this to mount on my thule edge/wingbar bike system and worked perfectly in my opinion. We were successful on removing the pin to use on a through axel but I'll note it did not feel like it was supposed to come out. Very happy to save over $100 each had I gone with the Thule kit. Didn't need to secure anything extra either. I'm awful at following instructions and found this to be rather intuitive to set ups as well. Just used the product as designed and off we went! Hope this review helps folks decide that this product is definitely worth it.

So this product is a great value. I'll cut to the chase. I saw several reviews where people put cardboard between it and the crossbars and couldn't figure out why. Here's the issue: the mounting plate is stamped sheet metal and the edges or turned down 90 degrees to allow for clearance of the crossbar. So the cardboard protects the crossbar from marring. The cardboard works but a better solution is car door edge guard. You can buy it at any automotive store for a few bucks and cut it with scissors and it has adhesive in the channel fpr an easy install. I attached a pic of the one I used. Overall the rack is good and will last for years. It isn't as pleasing on the eye as the high cost ones but since that doesn't concern me it's perfect. I can't give it 5 stars because I had to add the door edge so it wouldn't scratch my crossbars and I think the manufacturer should've had the insight to do that for you.

As far as function goes this bike rack works as well as the Yakima bike rack I used to have. The fit and flash might not be up to Yakima standards but when I consider the this set up is so much less money is couldn't be happier.

I'm really particular with my road bikes - they're my babies. I used this all season, even on my carbon bikes. No issues. Holds my bikes well. Installation takes about 20 min. Not snap and click, but this is significantly cheaper than other options and holds my bikes well.Quick tip: take the nut to the fork mount and the strap that holds the back wheel off before entering a car wash. I did have to by a new nut after one car wash.

Mounted to cross bars on my Audi Q5. Actually bought 3. Solid feel and drove over 1000 miles with 3 bikes on top without issue. Pleased with this purchase.

This was the least expensive roof rack bike carrier with a fork mount. I was a bit hesitant but was happy with the device and the ease of mounting. The channel (?) was thin steel, as expected, and the strap to hold the rear wheel in place... also flimsy as expected. That said, on non-highway speed trips the bike stays firmly mounted. Also, I mounted it to a 2018 Prius with a rhino rack and had no clearance issues as had been mentioned in comments. The included hardware was correct, no modification required. If you aren't traveling long distance, definitely a worthwhile purchase. If you are traveling long distance try a heavier strap (for rear wheel) and see how it goes. For half the price of most similar units it's worth the experiment.

I had to reinforce my factory roof rack a bit, though no fault of this product. The factory cross bars on my Caravan were a bit too flimsy, though probably would have been fine. I added aluminum square tube under the front cross bar to stiffen it up. The product itself is really good, especially for the price. Put 2 on the roof, with two mountain bikes, 1000 miles each way with me driving like I stole it, and they were fine. Don't let the price fool you they will get the job done.

Just traveled 650 miles round trip with 2 racks on my Tahoe to Ocean City, MD. One had a 2020 Trek Marlin 5 and the other a 2011 Trek X-Caliber. Mounted on crossbars easily, but I did follow the advice of another reviewer about putting a piece of rubber between brackets and crossbars to prevent any type of damage. Bikes mounted easily and were secure. Traveled at speeds around 70 MPH and through 2 heavy rainstorms with no issues. So far, so good and would recommend it.

This didn't work for me at all. I found it difficult to assemble and once I did I had to put it on my roof rack and then getting the bike on there was a problem. YMMV; and some people really liked this but it didn't work for me. Spend a little more and get a solid product.

For the price, this is a very good rack. Although the tray is somewhat flimsy, that doesn't make much of difference in the overall stability of the rack, since the clamp on the forks is so secure and sturdy. A big issue, however, is that the bolts that secure the front fork mounts are too long and can be driven through the factory roof rack damaging it. Also the platform on the which the fork mount is mounted is not solid metal, but stamped medal, and the edges also can dig into and damage the factory rack. I solved these issues by cutting a piece of plastic to insert into the fork mount bases (I had to drill holes in the plastic to accommodate the on the mounting platform) t and then adding a layer of rubber cut from an old floor mat between the fork mounting platform and the factory rack so that the bolts and the side of the mounting platform would not damage the factory roof rack. It was quite a bit of work to modify the rack that way, and its a bit unsightly, but it did solve the problem. would suggest that the manufacturer add apiece of plastic or rubber to go inside the front fork mounting plan to solve this problem.

I was leery cuz this was so much cheaper than Thule or Yakima. I saved hundreds of dollars and have traveled hundreds of miles with no problems.

We have to use a step stool to put our bikes up on this rack but at least it frees up the trunk. The tires on my hybrid bike are a bit wider than my husband's Giant bike, so we've noticed some play on the front wheel and handlebars of his while driving . We're getting used to the sounds of the bikes on top but nevertheless, still nervous about losing one even with the straps. We also like that we don't have to remove a tire to install. Overall, it does the job and allows us freedom to roam on our bikes.
