Even wearing padded gloves, getting punched in the face hurts. You hear the hollow thunk and realize that you were looking at your opponent and now you're looking at the lights...or the mat...or your feet.I purchased this headgear to protect my melon when it gets punched by my opponent. It fits perfectly AND is very comfortable. Additionally, it reduces the impact when getting punched. If you plan to spar, you should definitely get this headgear.
