These criss-cross ties are a replacement part of my working uniform (I work as a cruise ship photographer) and they are of far better quality than I had anticipated. They're of a slippery but sturdy and formal-looking satin (?) material. Unlike the previous ties that came with my uniform (made of rough nylon), they aren't restrictive and they are slippery enough that, throughout my shift, the sliding adjuster allows a bit of give. And I bought two, just in case they get lost in the laundry :)
