This worked perfect for my Taco 006-bc4-pnp. I have mine run about 15 hours a day all year long. Recently I heard a grinding noise and thought I would have to replace the entire pump. It was awesome it was just a cartridge that needed to be replaced. The only thing I would recommend is when you install the o-ring you should use a faucet safe/drinking water safe o-ring silicone grease (non petroleum base). I wish they would have included it with the cartridge. It will help it not to get pinched when tightening it down. It sounds GREAT after being installed!

Jury's out. Installed easy but the humming noised could be noticed in plumbing on the far side of house. 2 months later stopped circulating. But after disassembly and manually spinning the cartridge rotor the system started working again. We'll have to see how long it lasts.

Part arrived promptly and it was as advertised, coming with sealed cartridge impeller assembly, o-rings and screws (only needed one of the O-rings). Only issue was on installation, as my pump housing is horizontally mounted. Found it difficult to properly position the o-ring on installing the replacement cartridge, as it kept leaking. It took a number of tries before I was successful, the trick being to use o-ring lubricant and first mount 34;without34; the motor assembly. Once the impeller and o-ring was correctly positioned and screwed into place using the original short screws and only the metal cover plate (no leaks under water pressure). I was then able to install the heavy motor piece by sequentially unscrewing the shorter screws, which kept the plate and impeller parts in place. Used the longer replacement screws to fully attach the motor assembly. Again, it was a little tricky but doable. My pump has been running great since replacing the cartridge assembly and it was much cheaper than hiring a plumber to replace.

It was easy to replace and is very quiet. The first one lasted years pumping well water. I use circulating hot water to heat a small building to keep it from freezing in the winter. This pump is getting the job done.

Outstanding engineering. Brought my 14 year old pump back to like new. Important note: Must purge ALL air from your system or pump will cavitate--run all hot water faucets until spitting stops.

The cartridge assembly would have been great for me as I wouldn't have had to buy a new recirculating pump. Unfortunately, after years of use, there is no way to remove the old pump cartridge. Trust me, I tried multiple plumbers and nobody could get the old ones out of either of the pumps. I even called the manufacturer to make sure it was being attempted right. The use over time caused being or sticking of the cartridge and left no way for anyone to get the assembly out. It was a good idea to try and save people a lot of money and even a plumber, but chances are it will not work for most.

After 8 years the old one was still working but the seal broke so I replaced the whole unit. Nice and quite.

Perfect solution. I was hearing what I thought was a leak for weeks and couldnt find it in my 4000 square ft home. Then i went over to the water heater and heard the old pump rattling and realized that it was the cause (I confirmed it by shutting the power off to the pump...). Once I shut it off, voila, sound of running water disappeared!. The day i got the cartridge I took it out of the box and within 10 minutes the old one was replaced. 4 screws and a nut driver, thats it. Very easy install. Make sure to shut water and power off before removing any screws. Bring a bucket for any water in the return line to dump into.
